#517

After a "not really green" scenery, brought to us by Ole, comes a "can't be greener" landscape for our Woge #517!

Here it is:

As usual, your goal is to find out the exact location and the geology of this place and, if you are the first, you can have the honor of presenting the next WoGE.

Ole's (kind of) tip in the last WoGe made me forget America and Europe - so I started, very loosely and about 100km high, around 60ºE (near Uzbekistan) and go East, not following the Silk Road :)
Lucky me, not after much time of chasing green brownish areas, I found salt!

Now, let's chase something else:

This beautifull spot deserves more time so, again, I'm calling Schott's Rule! -> Publish time: 2015-10-01/16:42 (GMT+1)

Matthew's WoGE was, I confess, a geographical rather than a geological one. Nothing in the picture pointed to volcanic features, but hey ... all that green and that lake shoreline made me search Africa until I "stumble" upon Nyiragongo.

WoGE #505 is a little less humid but, has other virtues ...

Update:
It's not a much bigger scale ... but hey ... baby steps! ;)

Triple Divide Peak was Andrew´s challenge - a place I have "visited" and very close to one of my WoGE candidates (one that I think I have to drop...).

Now let´s go to 502: it has the advantage of joining two of my interests, one in geology and another in ... hmmm ... other earth science!

The Deccan Traps are in my imaginary long ago since I knew it was one of the largest volcanic features in the world - it didn't take much to find an area that I (sattellite-)know fairly well ...

Next something small, right in the image center, with some unusual characteristics:

The Germany-Norway ping-pong game was going fast (don't ask me who was winning) but the Laach Lake was the last "hit". This next spot isn't in Germany and, obviously, neither in Norway and even though my focus is on the water (right in the center), it's a dry landscape!

Here it is:

And no, I'm not putting Portugal in this game! :p

After some bad decisions in some of previous WoGE, my logic (a non-geologist one) paid off! :)

Now, keeping the snow, let's head to #472:

To me, this would be hard, almost impossible, but to Ole, 24 hours should suffice ;)

Anyway, your goal is to find out the exact location and the geology of this place and, if you are the first, you can have the honor of presenting the next WoGE.
