The place to start the search would obviously be Turkey (I wonder why, Kubilay ... ehehehe) and an whitish spot was not obvious but it also did not take long to find ...;)

Quake Lake was Andrew's challenge - the second landslide lake in a row brought me the similar looks that make me search first in Canada (I wonder why ...) and then in USA - a glad-it-was-the-second-landslide-in-a-row spot that became easier than I foresaw.

Ole's Sea Way was a nice spot and I take advantage of a blue hint to narrow the region, although I spent a lot of time in the nearby Japan!

Ole's (kind of) tip in the last WoGe made me forget America and Europe - so I started, very loosely and about 100km high, around 60ºE (near Uzbekistan) and go East, not following the Silk Road :)
Lucky me, not after much time of chasing green brownish areas, I found salt!

Matthew's WoGE was, I confess, a geographical rather than a geological one. Nothing in the picture pointed to volcanic features, but hey ... all that green and that lake shoreline made me search Africa until I "stumble" upon Nyiragongo.

The Deccan Traps are in my imaginary long ago since I knew it was one of the largest volcanic features in the world - it didn't take much to find an area that I (sattellite-)know fairly well ...

Well ... after a (near-)month of inactivity, WoGE is back! :)

I searched in the East African rift north area for some time (wrong continent, again) until, one day, I remember the icelandic eruptions and found Ole's Lakagígar.

Now, lets go south (north was a little improbable) and search something older:

A makhtesh, the Makhtesh Ramon in the Israeli Negev desert, was Ole's challenge, which, in my first thoughts, should be an African one. Well, it wasn't but ... lucky me, was right next door :)

The cold Wrangel Island was Ole's last challenge - I knew it wasn't Norway, but I had to certify it! I searched in Sweden, Finland, Iceland and then ... time ended. After the hint, I started looking east and then ... there it was, the last woolly mammoths population's location!

Now, lets get warmer:

It was hidden, but now, with a oblique view, the mighty volcano appears!
(Note: the summit is +/- 40 km away from the first image central point!)

Post-"find" note:
It appears that the colours of the first image aren't the same as present GE's images - I can't explain why the image colours are different and all the rest seems equal ... If Google changed the photo, other aspects of the image should have changed also, right?

When I saw Kubi's #445 I immediately recognized the site - I've "been" here! - I just did not know where it was ... After exploring the picture (it was a mine), I remembered! The terrible Soma mine accident made me, at the time, (GE-)fly the area ... and then I found it.

And now, #446:

This one, to me, is a kind of homage to a group of geologists.

After a few WoGE where my stubbornness send me way off (see WoGE #406), this time it send me (almost) directly to the spot - the 1256 volcanic eruption basalts east of the Medina's holy city!

Ole's #432 was a Chinese mine in a desert scenery where Rare Earth Elements are abundant. The specificity of mine was the main reason to be found in a relatively easy way, IMHO.

Now, away from the desert, bring the green ;)

Well, after (astro)geology and touristic famous rocks, back to the "hard" geology - petrology.

The Matthew's #426 was a tough and exciting, but fruitless game. The fruits appeared later in Ole's #427 because of all the well detached mountains I've tried, some remained in my visual memory, such as the Ole's "neural tube mountain".
